Reading recommendations for econ-flavoured motions?

Daniel Okafor·42d ago
Week 6 is the nuclear energy motion and my economics is entirely vibes. I don't need a degree, I need the debater's version — enough to build mechanisms that survive a POI. What do people actually read?

One serious newspaper, properly, beats six feeds — the law post on the news page is right about that. For energy specifically: the Economist's climate briefs and the IEA executive summaries. Skip the models, steal the framing.

Honest tip: read the FOR and AGAINST briefings on any parliamentary bill in the area. They're written to be argued out loud, which is exactly what you need. UK parliament research briefings are free and criminally underused.

Both perfect, thanks. Also just discovered the ten-minute primer the convenors are running before the debate — between that and these I might survive a POI from an actual physicist.
